Woven installation created with raw and off-cut Bolon materials

Drawing on their expertise in textiles, color, and material transformation, Berlin design duo Meyers + Fügmann have created a site-specific installation for the exhibition’s gathering space using Bolon materials. Their woven, abstracted landscape evokes the sense of wonder at the heart of The Overview Effect, using color, reflection, and movement to echo the shifting perceptions inspired by seeing Earth from space.

The work explores interdependence through the language of weaving: each individual strand gains meaning through its relationship to the larger whole. Specially commissioned by Bolon, The Global Melánge: Interwoven Latitudes extends the exhibition’s themes of interconnectedness, material innovation, and circular design into a spatial intervention that anchors the gathering space.

In addition to this commissioned work, Bolon has generously provided the woven flooring throughout the gathering space. Sourced from the climate-neutral BKB collection, the flooring is composed of 68% recycled material. Following the exhibition, the flooring will be collected for reuse or recycling, extending the project’s commitment to circular design beyond the exhibition
