This autumn, on the occasion of Berlin Art Week 2026, The Foundry, a project by Bocci and Wilhelm Hallen, presents The Overview Effect, a new group exhibition featuring an international roster of designers exploring our relationship to the world around us. Commissioned by Bocci and curated by American-born, Berlin-based curator and writer Anna Carnick, the exhibition is on view September 5–13, 2026 at The Foundry, Bocci's mixed-use exhibition space in Berlin.

The Overview Effect takes its name from a profound cognitive shift experienced by astronauts when gazing back at Earth from space. From this perspective, their understanding of the world and humankind's place in it is markedly altered. As manmade borders disappear and Earth's beauty and fragility come to the forefront, they are filled with a deep sense of awe and a newfound appreciation of the interconnected nature of our world.
